Synopsis
Civilization of the future, which has created its own “artificial planet” in cosmic space, has learned how to prolong its own existence to unlimited term, realizes that has faced with another problem of life.
The root of the problem was immortality. Increase of the life terms for unlimited period has led to much rarer emergence of new generation, which triggered slow down in evolution of the human species. But at the same time all surrounding environment has continued unrestrained evolving, threatening the survival of the humankind.
So, society has had to solve the problem of the own development slowdown, otherwise human species would have died.
It was necessary to understand how to optimize behavior of evolution within every stand-alone human as well as society all-in-all during its infinite life. The scientists were trying unsuccessfully to find the right answer; on top of that, their work was complicated by restriction of experimentation on their own kind. And after numerous attempts and failures the solution was finally found. Discovery of the remains of an ancient civilization, which has died long time ago and hasn’t left any traces besides negligible ruins, which were found and secured gently in Space Archeology Museum, has helped. Museum was a wreck of a planet in a specially made cover for better preservation. In this exact conservation among ruins of dead civilization repository with biological material of an ancient human was found, so called Homo sapiens. This is one of those species that populated the planet of natural occur, extinct because of cosmic cataclysm. And as long as these creatures were close enough to modern human by its genome; at the same time they were primitive and fell into different category of species, so experiments with them did not contradict moral principles of the society. At least scientists have decided to use the extinct remains of the species for their experiments.
Just so the project “Ancient” has started…
